Political analytics, theory and practice of international relations, political history, political geography, geopolitics, national and international security, military history and policy. Additional research interests are statistics, informatics, e-government, religious studies, philosophy, sociology, cultural studies as well as mass media and democracy issues.  


Fluent in Kazakh, Russian and English; proficient in Turkish and Persian; elementary knowledge of German and Arabic.
