City of Almaty. Theologian. As President of the Nur-Kazakhstan Hajj Company, he is a recognized leader in the field of pilgrimage (Hajj) organization. He is a recipient of the Star of Glory Order of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Qurmet Order, the international Atatürk Gold Medal, the UN Golden Eagle badge, as well as the DOSTYK Order awarded by the Human Rights Protection Committee.

Abdikalyk Amangeldy Yerengaiypuly was born in 1973 in the Amangeldy District of Kostanay Region (formerly the Turgai Region). From an early age, he showed a deep interest in the spiritual world and a strong desire for knowledge, demonstrating a genuine passion for learning. In 1990, he graduated with honors from the Ybyrai Altynsarin Secondary School.

From 1992 to 1994, he studied at the madrasah in the city of Merke, where he received a religious education and began an in-depth study of Islamic sciences. In 1994, he was admitted to the renowned Al-Azhar University in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, which he graduated from in 1999, obtaining comprehensive knowledge and high qualifications in the fields of philosophy and theology. His years of study at Al-Azhar enabled Amangeldy not only to master religious sciences but also to gain a profound understanding of world culture and philosophy.

From 2002, he worked as Head of the Hajj Department at the Sputnik Kazakhstan travel company, making a significant contribution to the organization of pilgrimage tours. During the same period, he served as Director of the Institute of Spiritual Development, earned the academic degree of Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, and was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor. He is widely recognized as the author of numerous scholarly works and articles.

Abdikalyk Amangeldy Yerengaiypuly is especially distinguished by his devotion to the cause of Hajj. He has performed 22 major Hajj pilgrimages and 78 Umrah pilgrimages, visiting the holy sites a total of 100 times.

In 2019, in Mecca and Medina, he held a spiritual gathering titled “The 100th Pilgrimage,” attended by renowned sheikhs from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Palestine, as well as direct descendants of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). By that time, he had accompanied more than 27,000 pilgrims from Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia, sharing with them his extensive spiritual experience.

Since 2007, serving as President of the Nur-Kazakhstan Hajj Company, he has become a recognized leader in the field of pilgrimage organization. Among the most memorable milestones of his Hajj-related activities are the following:

  • 2007 – receiving as a gift from the sheikhs of Saudi Arabia a kiswah (the cover of the Kaaba) adorned with gold embroidery;
  • 2008 – being granted the honor of entering the interior of the Sacred Kaaba and offering supplications there;
  • 2009 – his work “The History of Al-Aqsa Mosque” receiving high acclaim in Palestine, and the presentation of a commemorative gift by Sheikh Najih, Chief Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque, depicting a fragment of the golden dome of the Qubbat as-Sakhra (Dome of the Rock);
  • January 2, 2010 – upon invitation of the King of Saudi Arabia, entering the Kaaba for the second time and receiving a second kiswah from the sheikhs of Al-Haram Mosque;
  • 2011 – being awarded the International Atatürk Gold Medal for his contribution to the strengthening of spirituality and cooperation among nations;
  • 2012 – being granted the title of Honorary Professor of the Al-Aqsa Academy (Jerusalem, Palestine);
  • 2013 – receiving the UN Gold Medal “For Service to Society” and being awarded the diplomatic title “Ambassador of the Peace Mission”;
  • 2014 – receiving the Golden Eagle badge from the UN Human Rights Protection Committee;
  • 2015 – the Nur-Kazakhstan Hajj Company being recognized as the industry leader among the CIS countries;
  • 2016 – being awarded the Star of Glory Order of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • 2018 – being conferred the title of Academician of the International Academy of Informatization;
  • 2019 – being awarded the Qurmet Order;
  • 2025 – being awarded the DOSTYK Order by the Human Rights Protection Committee.

Another significant milestone in the spiritual life of Amangeldy Qazhy was his establishment and public recognition of the fact that the ancestors of the world-renowned calligrapher, a citizen of Saudi Arabia and the master whose handwriting is preserved in the Holy Qur’an, Osman Taha, originate from the city of Turkestan.

On May 24, 2024, he facilitated Osman Taha’s participation in the opening of the new Seitjan Qari Mosque in the city of Shymkent and obtained his consent to name the madrasah affiliated with the mosque after Osman Taha. As part of this visit, a ziyarat (pilgrimage) was made to the city of Turkestan–the land where the blood of his ancestors was shed.

Abdikalyk Amangeldy Yerengaiypuly is a prominent representative of Kazakhstan’s spiritual sphere, an organizer of Hajj activities, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor, and author of numerous scholarly works. He is a spiritual leader who serves his people and, through faith and culture, brings international recognition to the name of Kazakhstan.
