Wójcik Waldemar
W.Wójcik was born in June 2, 1949, in Górki in Lublin region (Poland). In 1975 he graduated from the Faculty of Electronics of Wroclaw University of Technology. Since 1975 he has worked in Lublin University of Technology Polytechnic as assistant, associate professor, professor in the Department of Electronics, from 2003 to the present day is the Head of the Department of Electronics (renamed as Institute of Electronics and Information Technology in 2012).
He was the Dean of the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Faculty from 2005 to 2012. In 1985 he defended the candidate thesis titled “Computer stabilisation of the parameters of sludge in cement production” on speciality “Automation of technological processes”. In 2001 he defended the doctor thesis titled “Methods of control of heat parameters of combustion processes” on speciality “Devices and methods for heat value measurements”.
Scientific research areas: technological process control, non-telecommunication applications of optical fibres, optoelectronic monitoring, diagnostics and control of the pulverised coal combustion in industrial conditions, fibre optic sensors of physical quantities, application of informatics in some branches of the economy, medical diagnostics.
W.Wójcik is a member of the specialized scientific councils of Lublin University of Technology, and D.Serikbayev East Kazakhstan State Technical University, a member of the editorial board of scientific journals «Energetics» (Belarus), «Physics and Chemistry of Solid State» (Ukraine), «Electronics» (Ukraine), «Technogenic and Ecological Safety and Protection» (Ukraine), and «Informatyka, Automatyka, Pomiary w Gospodarce i Ochronie Środowiska» (Poland), a member of the Ukrainian Academy of Informatics, Lublin Scientific Society, Polish Committee of optoelectronics of Association of Polish Electrical Engineers, SPIE – The International Society for Optical Engineering, Polish Society of Sensor Techniques, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Lublin Science & Technology Park Center of Innovation and Technology Transfer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the company «Optotrakt» (Lublin). He has medals and awards.
In 2011 he received the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa from V. M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of NAS of Ukraine.
He received the title of honorary professor from Vinnytsia National Technical University (Vinnytsia, Ukraine) in 2011, Kherson National Technical University (Kherson, Ukraine) in 2012, and D.Serikbayev East Kazakhstan State Technical University (Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan) in 2013.
He published more than 410 works, including 56 monographs, over 350 articles, 5 patents. W.Wójcik prepared 15 Candidates of Technical Sciences and is the thesis advisor of 10 Candidates.
