Biography

Raikhan Bulatovna Zhandavletova was born in 1970 in the city of Kyzylorda, Republic of Kazakhstan.

From 1988 to 1993, she studied at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda Pedagogical Institute, where she obtained a degree in Biology and Chemistry Education.

From 1994 to 2004, she worked as a Biology and Chemistry teacher at Secondary School No. 217 named after B. Shalgynbayev in Kyzylorda. During this period, she actively supervised students' scientific research projects in biology. Under her guidance, students became prize winners of city and regional scientific and practical conferences.

In 1998, she participated in the city competitions "Best Biology Teacher of the Year" and "Teacher of the Year", winning the Grand Prix in both competitions. She holds the qualification of First Category Teacher. For her professional achievements, she received Letters of Appreciation from the Akim (Mayor) of Kyzylorda City (1999) and the Akim of Kyzylorda Region (1999, 2000).

Her strong interest in science led her to become a research applicant at the Department of Biology, Geography and Ecology of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda State University from 2000 to 2003. In 2003, she successfully defended her PhD-equivalent Candidate of Sciences dissertation at the Institute of Human and Animal Physiology of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Almaty), specializing in 03.00.13 – Physiology. Her dissertation was entitled: "Proteolytic Activity of Erythrocytes and Blood Composition in Women Living in the Aral Sea Region and Their Changes Under Respiratory Training." On March 5, 2004, she was awarded the academic degree of Candidate of Biological Sciences by the Higher Attestation Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Since 2004, she has been working at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University in the Department (Educational Program) of Biology, Geography and Chemistry. She has held the position of Academic Associate Professor (Docent) since 2009, and since 2025 has been serving as Acting Associate Professor.

She teaches the following courses:

- For Master's students: Developmental Psychophysiology and Pedagogy; Methods of Teaching Biology in Higher Education.

- For Bachelor's students: Human Anatomy; Developmental Physiology of Schoolchildren; Biochemistry.

She actively applies interactive teaching methods in both lectures and practical classes. To enhance students' knowledge, professional competencies, critical thinking, and interest in teaching, she regularly organizes round-table discussions on topics such as biology teaching methodology, working with children with special educational challenges, environmental competence formation, and other contemporary educational issues. Her graduate students actively participate in scientific conferences and publish research articles in academic journals, including Biological Sciences (2023–2025) and the Republican Scientific and Educational Pedagogical Journal (2023).

Dr. Zhandavletova continuously improves her professional qualifications. In 2016, she completed professional retraining in Practical Psychology at the International Academy of Business (Moscow, Russia) and obtained a diploma granting the right to practice professional psychological counseling and coaching. She successfully integrates these competencies into her teaching, research, and student mentoring activities.

Before teaching internships, she conducts seminars and training sessions for third- and fourth-year students on topics including:

- "How to Become Self-Confident";

- "Developmental Crises in Children";

- "Love for Children as the Foundation of Pedagogical Excellence."

She also supervises scientific research projects of secondary school students throughout the Kyzylorda Region. In recognition of this work, she has received numerous Letters of Appreciation, including:

- For preparing winners of the Republican Olympiad among educational institutions (2016, 2017);

- From Nazarbayev Intellectual School for serving as a jury member of the INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair (2016);

- From the Republican Scientific and Practical Center "Daryn" for serving as a jury member of scientific project competitions (2017);

- From the Department of Education of Kyzylorda Region (2021, 2022);

- From the Regional Center for Supplementary Education "Daryn" (2022).

From 2018 to 2020, she was a member of the research team implementing the grant-funded project "Development of Multi-Enzyme Biosensors Based on Polymeric Nanomaterials", supported by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan. The project resulted in a patented invention.

In 2025, she became a Senior Researcher in the project "Biodiversity Assessment in the Khorasan-1 Deposit Operation Area", conducted under a cooperation agreement between Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University and Turanium LLP.

She served as the Technical Secretary of the Dissertation Council in the educational program 8B01517 – Biology at Korkyt Ata University during 2019–2020.

Since early 2023, she has been serving as a Senior Researcher at the T. Kuanyshbayev Scientific and Educational Center, where one of her major research directions is improving the quality of chemistry and biology education.

Dr. Zhandavletova actively participates in the university's social, cultural, and academic activities. In recognition of her contributions, she was awarded Honorary Certificates by the Rector of Korkyt Ata University in 2020 and 2022.

She regularly participates in national and international scientific and practical conferences. She is the author of more than 70 scientific and methodological publications, including:

- 1 scientific-methodological manual;

- 2 textbooks;

- 5 educational and methodological manuals.

She is also the inventor and co-inventor of three patents, including:

- Patent No. 4134 – Breathing Exercise Device (Utility Model);

- Patent No. 4173 – Method for Enhancing the Catalytic Activity of Encapsulated and Immobilized Enzymes;

- Utility Model Patent No. 11620.

Since 2023, Dr. Zhandavletova has been an Academician of the International Informatization Academy (IIA). In recognition of her significant contribution to the Academy, she was awarded the IIA Golden Jubilee Medal.

 

In 2024, she received the "Korkyt Ata" Gold Medal for her outstanding contribution to the development of education.

Dr. Raikhan Bulatovna Zhandavletova is married and is the mother of four children.
