In 2006, I began teaching in the discipline of environmental orientation. In 2008, I received a doctorate in environmental economics and environmental conservation. The subject of my dissertation research was "Socio-ecological-economic mapping of the city of Almaty" where I built maps of diseases and pollution, conducted a correlation-regression analysis and established a relationship between carbon monoxide emissions and respiratory diseases, in addition, to other pollutant emissions were considered and types of conditions. In this study, quantitative research methods were used.
Courses I taught include environmental economics; ecology and sustainable development; eco-market and food security, environmental project management and integrated water resources management.
For all my scientific and pedagogical activities, I have published more than 40 scientific papers and 2 textbooks. All publications are devoted to the issues of environmental management and economics of environmental management, and the latest works are dedicated to the management of environmental projects and sustainable development.
I completed an internship at the universities of Italy (Rome, Unnonetuno University, Viterbo, Tuscia University), the Russian Federation (Moscow, Moscow State University named M.V. Lomonosov), the Netherlands (Amsterdam Vrije University), etc. As a Visiting Scholar I am currently working on research at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst on sustainable project management as a visiting scholar.
I have experience in conducting scientific research in the field of sustainable development, also experience in projects: work in the study of the grant project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan "New Silk Road: from regional cooperation to the integration of Kazakhstan into the world economic and political space" (2015-2017), in particular the study and assessment of environmental risks along the New Silk Road, including greenhouse gas emissions along the New Silk Road countries and transboundary water problems in Central Asia. I also worked on the project «Sustainable development and socio-ecological-economic assessment of the ecological status of cities in Kazakhstan».
In my research, I single out the risk of greenhouse gas emissions, global warming, an increase in the amount of environmental pollution, including radon pollution and pollution of the oceans, and depletion of water and mineral resources, as one of the leading environmental risks.
These issues were one of the factors that convinced me to choose a professional path in the field of environmental economics and sustainable project management.
