As RIA news was reminded in the press service of Microsoft in Russia, Windows 7 was developed more than ten years ago at a completely different level of cyber threats. The emergence of new technologies has caused the need to revise the operating system, so the creation of the tenth version of Windows in the main emphasis was placed on protection against cyber threats, the press service said.

The company noted that in the absence of support, the security of Windows 7 will be questioned, its users risked becoming "easy prey" for cybercriminals.

The company also advised users to upgrade their gadgets if they do not meet modern requirements, as installing a new operating system on them is likely to reduce their performance.

In addition, the company noted that the outdated gadgets do not support basic security features of version 10 of Windows,including face and fingerprint recognition systems.

According to the analytical company Net Applications as of March 2019, Windows 7 operating system is installed on 40 percent of desktop personal computers around the world.
