Maternity benefit and childcare payment until one year old can be obtained online via popular bank apps

Now, citizens can submit a request for maternity benefit via popular bank apps, namely Halyk Homebank andKaspi.kz. [www.nitec.kz]

“We actively expanding the borders and transferring public services to popular apps which enable providing citizens with the most convenient option to get services. We already have had a successful case of implementing the capability to register IE and re-register a vehicle via bank apps. Now, maternity benefit can also be requested via a smartphone” highlighted Asset Turyssov, Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of RK.

“The goal of joint pilot project is to create utmost convenient options for end-users. We hope that this will help to enhance the citizens` trust to electronic public services. For our part, we are ready for further cooperation with second-tier banks in order to expand the spectrum and improve the quality of public service delivery” Yerbol Osspanov, Vice Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Citizens of RK. 

 

To submit a request for maternity benefit and assignment of welfare payment in case of loss of income due to childcare until one year old via Halyk Homebank and Kaspi.kz, one needs to:

- go to public services section;

- provide consent for collection and processing of personal data;

- select “Maternity benefit”;

- select a child for whom a request will be submitted;

- check all the data and sign it using digital signature.

After submission of a request by a user and its consideration by a government agency, a user will get a PUSH notification and SMS containing the result of request consideration and assigned sum of benefit. The service can be obtained anytime within the 1st year after giving birth to a child.

Previously, a request could have only been submitted via CSC, e-Gov Portal or SMS service of 1414. It should be noted that the service is one of the most popular ones and is in a great demand among citizens. Thus, in 2021 the following number of requests has been submitted: via CSC - about  344 134, via eGov.kz portal- 144 751 and via “1414” SMS service - 209 351.

To date, thanks to the integrations, over 500 requests have been submitted via  Halyk Homebank and Kaspi.kz services. The service is available for iOS and Android users in Kaspi.kz mobile app and to Android users in Halyk Homebank mobile app, iOS will become available soon. 

 

The new capability was implemented under joint cooperation of Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of RK, Ministry of Justice of RK, National Information Technologies JSC, Halyk Homebank and Kaspi.kz.
