The Oxford institute of the Internet (OII) found out during the research that the number of the died users of Facebook can exceed number living by 2070. EurekAlert reports about it.

According to the research OII, by 2100 1.4 billion users of Facebook will be dead. Thus, by 2070 the died users of social network will become more, than live. The analysis means two extreme scenarios. According to researchers, the truth will be somewhere in the middle.

According to the first scenario, the number of users will remain at the level of 2018. In that case, the share of dead users will make 44% of total number to the end of the century of the Asian countries. Nearly a half of these profiles will fall on India and Indonesia and will make slightly less than 279 million by 2100.

The second scenario assumes that the audience of Facebook will continue growth at the current speed — plus 13% every year until reaches a maximum in all countries. Under these conditions the number of the died users can exceed 4.5 billion people to the end of the century. Africa will make the most fast-growing share, and Nigeria will become the leader — more than 6% of the total number of dead users will fall on it. From among the western countries only the USA will be included into the top ten by this criterion.

According to the doctoral candidate of OII Karl of Oman, statistics raises new and difficult questions about the one who will have the right for the data of the person left later to death and as will dispose of them. As the student David Watson approves it, never earlier in the history such huge archive of human behavior and culture was brought together in one place. Control of this archive will give to its owner the chance somewhat "to operate history". Therefore it is important that not only Facebook had access to these historical data, he claims.
